When Ashley graduated from college in 2022 with a degree in Sports Management, she wasn’t necessarily planning on a career in logistics. Like many recent graduates, she began applying to various roles, exploring where her skills and ambition could take her.
Then she found Trans-Border Global Freight Systems.
“After being hired, I immediately fell in love with the industry,” Ashley shares. “I knew it was a career I wanted to pursue.”
Three years later, that initial opportunity grew into a thriving career. Today, Ashley has stepped into management as Import Pricing Manager, and she couldn’t be more excited about the journey ahead.

One of Ashley’s favorite parts of working in logistics is the global reach.
“I love that my job allows me to work with individuals from all over the world,” she says.
Freight forwarding is fast-paced and constantly evolving — something Ashley sees as both a challenge and an opportunity.
“The most challenging part is that no day is the same, so you have to be able to adapt to different situations at any moment.”
For Ashley, that unpredictability is what makes the industry so rewarding. Each day brings new challenges, new solutions, and new opportunities to grow.

“Logistics is not an easy industry, so to be successful you have to want to learn, put forth the effort, and be willing to work hard every day.”

Advice for Women Entering Logistics
Ashley is passionate about encouraging more women to step confidently into the industry.
“Come to work every day with a good attitude and be ready to work,” she advises. “Be someone that others respect and want to work with.”
She also encourages women not to shy away from challenges.
“Don’t shy away from the more challenging or complex tasks — those are what are going to make you better, help you expand your knowledge, and become successful.”
It’s a powerful reminder that growth often happens outside of our comfort zones.

Behind Ashley’s success is a strong network of mentors and role models who have helped guide her along the way.
“I have to thank my previous manager, Tyler, and Director, Sumar, for always encouraging me and teaching me everything I know about logistics,” she says. “Having them as such a strong support system has truly helped me get to where I am today.”
She also credits someone even closer to home — her sister, Lindsay.
“Being able to work with her has been such a unique and rewarding experience since she has always been a role model in my life.”
Working alongside her sister in the same industry has made her journey even more meaningful.

“My proudest moment so far is becoming the Import Pricing Manager and getting the Rookie of the Year award in 2024.”
