June 5th, 2025 – CBP has extended the in-transit exception deadline for goods subject to reciprocal tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). Previously, goods had to be entered by May 28, 2025, to qualify. That deadline has now been extended to June 16, 2025.
Key details:
- 9903.01.28: Applies to goods in-transit before April 5, 2025, and entered between April 5 and June 16, 2025.
- 9903.01.25: Applies to:
- Goods from countries with specific additional duties (9903.01.43–.76) in-transit between April 5–9, 2025.
- Goods from China (9903.01.63) in-transit between April 9–10, 2025.
- These entries are subject to a 10% tariff in place of the country-specific rate, if entered before June 16, 2025.
This guidance is temporary and will remain in effect while the CIT’s stay on judgment remains active. CBP will continue to update the trade community as needed.
