This year, Matthew was recognized with the Greatest Professional Growth Award, celebrating the steady improvements and dedication he’s brought to his role at TBGFS.
“It’s nice to get a physical representation of my growth within this company,” Matthew shares. “A sign that I have improved and will continue to do so every day.”

Matthew credits the people around him for helping him reach this milestone, giving a shoutout to both where he started and where he is now.

When asked what he’s most proud of this year, Matthew didn’t hesitate: Becoming DG Certified.
It’s a major accomplishment and one that reflects his commitment to learning, expanding his knowledge, and continuing to grow within the industry.
Growth Through Change
One of the biggest challenges Matthew overcame this year was transitioning from Export Pricing to Export Operations—a move that pushed him into a new rhythm and a more complex day-to-day workload.
“I took all that I had learned in pricing and now apply it in operations,” he explains. “The day-to-day workload is more complex now.”
It’s a shift that required adaptability, focus, and a willingness to take on something new—and it’s a big reason his growth stood out this year.
What Success Means to Matthew
For Matthew, success is simple and customer-focused:
“Exceeding a customer’s expectations.”
It’s a mindset that speaks to the level of care and effort he brings to his work every day.
Looking Ahead
While Matthew is excited about continuing to improve in his current department, he’s also looking forward to something meaningful on a personal level: being reunited with extended family.
“Some of my extended family on my dad’s side finally got approved to come to the U.S., so it will be nice to see them again since I have not seen them since I was a child.”
Advice for Future Award Winners
Matthew’s advice for anyone hoping to earn this award one day is straightforward—and honest:
“Work hard and take everything in stride.”

Looking five years ahead, Matthew is feeling good about where he is—and focused on continuing to improve right where he’s at.
“Right now, I like where I am at, so I hope to continue improving in my current department.”
