Monday, November 3rd, 2025 – Standing behind our belief system of ‘powered by technology, driven by people’, Trans-Border has released the new and improved version of our online shipment tracking portal, TBX – developed in-house to bring better data, insights, and shipment visibility to our valued customers.

What makes this release so important to our valued clients and potential customers?

We now fully own the code, giving us complete control over the portal design, features, and capabilities so we can expand the scope of the portal beyond just shipment tracking.

The overall goal of this project is to keep things simple and not overcomplicate the new portal interface, ensuring customers can access the most important information without disruption or frustration.

Some of the main benefits and features of TBX are:

  • Improved interface for a more user-friendly experience
  • Advanced filter and search functionality (shipment weight, date, mode, etc.)
  • Automated status updates via email and SMS
  • Customizable dashboard (visible fields, columns, data, etc.)
  • View customs declarations in your dashboard
  • Interactive map functionality – view your shipments journey from origin to destination based on mode of transportation
  • Contact Information – your Customer Service Representative and Sales Representative contact information is connected to each specific shipment, so you know exactly who is handling your shipment and who to contact with questions
  • Documentation Management – all shipping documents and billing invoices are connected to their respective shipments for easy download and file management

As our customers’ needs evolve, so does our technology.

Having full control over TBX’s code allows us to continuously improve and update the portal to match our customers’ growth and initiatives.

Some future-state releases will include:

  • Tools for investigating your own import tariffs and duties (HTS codes, etc.)
  • Ability to run reports within the portal yourself
  • Bulk downloading documents and invoices for multiple shipments
  • More direct control over email and SMS automatic status updates*
  • CO2 emissions reporting directly in the portal**
  • Additional KPI’s like delay times (number of days delayed), etc.

So who is the mastermind behind TBX?

None other than our tech genius – sometimes internally referred to as ‘The Wizard’ – Brendon Fisher, our IT & Systems Manager.

Brendon joined the Trans-Border family a couple of years ago, bringing his vast knowledge and sharp aptitude for coding to our IT team. Before developing TBX, Brendon managed the previous tracking portal and initiated the implementation of the automated status messaging feature – a major win and upgrade for our customers.

Others involved in the development of TBX are Kelly Jackson, Director of Operational Excellence, and Joey Wilder, IT & Systems Specialist.

Kelly brings a wealth of operational knowledge from her 15+ years at Trans-Border, helping to fine-tune the portal interface with her keen attention to detail and eye for process improvements.

Joey originally began his journey at Trans-Border on the Import Pricing & Routing team, but his background in IT and cyber security made him the perfect fit to join our evolving IT team. During the testing phase of TBX, Joey used his expertise to identify any gaps or issues on the front end to help bring TBX to life.

As a mid-sized freight forwarder, the dedication from our team and support from our valued customers enables us to continuously innovate and inspire growth – both for ourselves and our customers – so we can deliver the best-in-class logistics services and transportation solutions.
