Meet Amy—our newest team member joining our Agent Pricing & Routing team! Amy is originally from sunny California but moved to New York in 2024 as history and her ancestry led her to the Capital Region. While Amy has not worked in freight forwarding specifically, she has about 20 years of experience in shipping and receiving, but also just recently earned her Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies—congratulations, Amy! 🥳 She also has a daughter (who’s in college and is a tarot reader), a granddaughter (she just started kindergarten), a son-in-law (who is a sergeant in the U.S. Army), and four cats—Katrina, Cornelia, Elizabeth, and Artemis. Outside of work and her family, Amy loves to visit historical sites, reading, writing, collecting the band Ghost’s merch, and playing Assassin’s Creed video games. As a history buff, it doesn’t matter to Amy if she takes an all-inclusive or backpacking/camping trip, just as long as the destination is a historical one! Along her travels, Amy would switch between music and audiobooks. Her favorite music besides Ghost is the band AFI, sea shanties, Assassin’s Creed soundtracks, and classical music. For audiobooks, she would choose the Outlander series, or anything related to history of the Capital Region or Revolutionary War. If Amy was to host an exclusive dinner party, her choice of guests in an easy one: her daughter, Thomas Jefferson, and Tobias Forge (of the band Ghost). Reason being she has some questions for Thomas and Tobias but would also love to hear her daughter “grill” them about their writings! Amy can be described as funny, caring, and selfless, and shared a piece of advice she’d give to her younger self: hang in there and focus on what you want!
Welcome aboard, Amy! Stop by her desk in Agent Pricing or send her a welcome message at avierra@tbgfs.com.
