Meet Ian – our newest team member joining our Export Operations team. Ian is a Capital Region native, growing up in Scotia, NY, before he went on to college at University at Buffalo where he studied political science and international trade. Before joining Trans-Border and entering the world of freight forwarding, Ian worked for a law firm as a senior case manager. (If you’re reading this and can guess the law firm, I’ll give you an extra music lottery entry! Hint: they have a very catchy jingle that is constantly living in my head rent free 😊) Outside of work, Ian enjoys boating, snowboarding and spending time with family and friends. Ian seems to be a thrill-seeker as one of his favorite memories is from spending time in Lake George learning to wakeboard, wake-surf, and going cliff jumping! Heights don’t seem to shake Ian since he would choose flight as his superpower of choice so he could travel the world, specifically to his dream vacation destination in Hawaii – a much better alternative to flying economy! Until the Superman powers kick in, Ian will have to settle for traditional transportation methods but will pass the time with a mix of his favorite music artist, Zach Bryan, and favorite podcast, Pardon My Take. If Ian was to host an exclusive dinner party, he would invite Carmelo Anthony since he is an avid Syracuse/Knicks fan, Josh Allen since he is a Bills fan, and Quintin Tarantino since he loves his movies – sounds like a dinner party I would want to attend! Ian can be described as outgoing, competitive and easy-going and lives by the personal motto “don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.” (I might have to steal this quote for the newsletter!)
