Meet Kizzy—our new Import Operations Manager! Kizzy is originally from Grenada but moved to NYC in 8th grade. While she loved the rich culture in the city, she made a promise to herself as a child to build a life in the U.S. (preferably in Upstate NY) so she could enjoy a similar lifestyle to hers as a child—dreams really do come true! Being from Grenada, snow was not something Kizzy came face to face with in her adolescence, but seeing snow for the first time was “the most beautiful experience”, feeling like she was in a movie until she realized you can get cold pretty quick! (Just wait for an Upstate winter…) Aside from waitressing after high school at Juniors Restaurant (where she met tons of celebrities), Kizzy has worked in freight forwarding for over 15 years, bringing her wealth of experience and expertise to TBGFS. Kizzy has a daughter, Madison, who just started her junior year at Temple University (proud mom moment!). She would love to have a pet one day, maybe a brown Golden Doodle, but jokes she should maybe start off with a goldfish to see how it goes first 😆 Outside of work, Kizzy loves nature and hiking or just talking long strolls and bike rides through nearby parks. She also has an eye for interior decorating, often helping her friends and family with home projects. After dealing with city traffic for many years, Kizzy would trade the road for the skies, choosing the ability to fly as her superpower. That way she could travel anywhere, especially to Grenada and Turks & Cacaos whenever she pleases! For now, she’ll pass travel time by with a mix of her favorite music: Soca Music from Grenada and Jamacia, as well as some of her favorite hip-hop and pop artists like The Weekend, Juju Banton, Bob Marley, and Taylor Swift. If Kizzy was to host a dinner party with any guests of her choosing, the top two would be, 1) Oprah so she could understand and be mentored on how to become a millionaire (if you learn the secrets, please share!), and 2) David Beckham, simply because he is good-looking—who can argue with that logic?? Kizzy can be described as resilient, ambitious, and kind, and if she could give her younger self a piece of advice, it would be to focus on self-growth.
