Meet Matt—our newest team member joining our Domestic Pricing team! Matt is originally from Vermont but moved to Clifton Park at the age of nine, living in the area until 2018 before spending the better part of six years in beautiful (and significantly warmer) Greenville, SC! Ultimately, he couldn’t stay away from the north and made his “triumphant” return to the Capital Region. Matt is no newbie to the world of freight with 15 years of brokerage experience under his belt. You may think Matt is his only nickname, but in a shocking turn of events, more people call him Ed or Eddie than his actual name—and no, it’s not his middle name! We’ll need to get more on this nickname lore at a later date… Matt (Ed? Eddie?) is an “unabashed nerd” and enjoys spending his free time gaming, watching movies and TV, and reading. Outside of those hobbies, he also likes to exercise, see live music (he’s one of the few remaining ska fans in the world), play trivia, and spend time with friends. If Matt was to host an exclusive dinner party for his top three picks (dead or alive) he would invite William Jennings Bryan (because winners never quit), Stephen King (because how can you go from The Green Mile to a short story about a cookie jar that contains another universe??), and Rodney Dangerfield (because he deserves the respect he never received). Get your popcorn ready because that conversation sounds like primetime entertainment to me! Although a “boring but practical” choice, Matt would select the ability to fly as his superpower to avoid the perils of traffic wherever he goes. Matt can be described as funny and smart but with the occasional ‘oops’ moment, and lives by the personal motto “time flies like an arrow, and fruit flies like a banana.”
