Meet Mikey—our newest team member joining our Import Operations department! Mikey is a Capital Region native, growing up in Saratoga Springs before going on to play basketball at SUNY Oneonta. While Mikey has not worked in freight forwarding before, he is no stranger to logistics. For the last four years, he worked at GlobalFoundries and is excited to apply his knowledge to the world of freight forwarding. As a former collegiate athlete, it should be no surprise that Mikey enjoys spending his free time working out, playing in a men’s basketball league, and watching basketball and football (his favorite team across all sports being the Buffalo Bills!). Not only does Mikey challenge himself physically, but mentally as well as he just recently learned how to play chess—gotta keep the mind sharp, too! If Mikey were to host an exclusive dinner party, can you guess who the top three people he’d invite would be? If you’re thinking along the lines of basketball, you’d be correct! More specifically, he would invite Lebron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry to enjoy a night of endless hours of basketball talk. Since time is the only thing you can’t get more of in this life, no matter who you are, Mikey would choose time travel as his superpower—perhaps to catch some of the greatest sports games in history or just to spend more time with those who matter the most to him. Mikey would love to explore through time but definitely would not love to explore the outdoors as he prefers a vacation that includes a tropical location, a real bed, and everything you need right at your fingertips! Mikey can be described as kind, athletic, and funny, and shared this piece of advice he would give to his younger self: control what you can control and don’t let anybody ruin your day!
