Meet Nina—our newest team member joining our Domestic Operations team! Nina is originally from Clifton Park, but for the last 10 years has lived in California, Texas, and most recently Nevada, but she is happy to be back in the Capital Region, close to family again. Nina is no stranger to the world of logistics—she previously worked at Cal Sierra Express, so some of you may even recognize the name and know her through past email exchanges. Outside of freight, Nina enjoys spending her time painting, hiking, and reading—she always appreciates a good horror novel read/recommendation, so hit her up to exchange titles if that’s your jam! Nina also enjoys collecting old and international cookbooks, appreciates a good coffee shop recommendation—we have a bunch of places we can share with you! —and is a big animal lover and proud cat mom. Since Nina is not an airport’s biggest fan (although, does anyone really like airports? Concerned for those who do…) she would select flying as her superpower of choice, bypassing all the chaos that comes with commercial flying. Until she’s granted the power of flight, Nina will pass the travel time by with pretty much anything—she loves Neil Young and Crowded House as much as she loves hardcore and hyper-pop genres and is also open to funny and/or historical podcast suggestions. If given the choice of a dream vacation or a backpacking trip, Nina would choose a vacation at a cabin with a beautiful view and plenty of critters to keep her entertained! Nina can be described as “very, very weird” (welcome to a group of fellow weirdos! 😊) and shared a piece of advice she’d give her younger self: Don’t give up on your weird or difficult dreams—odds are a lot of other people in your position did and it’s not as hard as you may think!

Welcome aboard, Nina! Stop by her desk in Domestic Ops or send her a welcome message at nbohm@tbgfs.com.
