Meet Olivia—our newest team member joining our Import Operations department! Olivia was born and raised in Vermont but has been in New York for the past three years, now calling it home with her 7-month old daughter, Xenith. Olivia has previously worked in logistics with a focus on inventory management and freight shipping, so she is excited to put her skills to use in her new role and learn more about freight forwarding! In her free time, you can find Olivia practicing martial arts—something she’s been doing since she was 12 years old—and doing/reading/watching anything related to art or history as she is a huge “nerd” for them! Since she loves history so much, she would choose teleportation/time travel so she could go back to her favorite time periods or travel to any part of the world in a matter of seconds (would be nice given the recent prices of fuel…but I digress 😊). Instead, she’ll have to settle for present-day transportation, passing the time by listening to her favorite genres of music—early 2000s or 70s and 80s rock. If given the choice to go on an all-inclusive vacation or camping/backpacking trip, Olivia would choose the all-inclusive vacation since camping is not her thing and she not a big fan of bugs (me too, girl, me too!). When hosting a dinner party with three guests of her choice, Olivia would choose to invite her late grandmother since she passed when she was just a baby and she’d love to get to know her, Leonardo da Vinci because she wants to know the meaning and inspiration behind the Mona Lisa directly from him, and a significant religious figure from her faith to answer the many questions she has. Olivia can be described as resilient, outgoing, and nurturing, and lives by the personal motto “don’t change your personality or the things that make you, you for others—love who you are, and the right people will love you for you”.
