Meet Ryan – our newest team member joining our sales department as an Account Executive – Central & Western NY. Ryan was born and raised in Saratoga Springs but took the opportunity to explore the west coast for his college years at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Before joining Trans-Border, Ryan worked for Fix Supply, selling industrial supply parts. While Ryan has not worked in freight forwarding before, he worked closely with overseas vendors at his previous job, exposing him to international supply chains and global trade that will come in handy in his new role! Outside of work, Ryan enjoys staying active by playing hockey and is part of a men’s league softball team – what a great way to compete and hang out with your buddies after a long work week! For his superpower choice, Ryan would pick the ability to breathe underwater. He would love to go scuba diving but the thought and fear of running out of oxygen keeps his feet firmly planted on land. Since Ryan has grown up loving sports, he would invite Derek Jeter, Carmelo Anthony and Mark Messier to his exclusive dinner party – would love to hear the stories from all those legends! On his way to an all-inclusive vacation for some rest and relaxation, Ryan would pass the time listening to audio books – in his words, “what other than the classic Harry Potter books to listen to!” Ryan can be described as honest, hardworking, and reliable, and lives by his favorite motto, “if everyone pulled out their problems looking to trade, you would grab yours and run away.” In his first week he’s already sharing some wise words and offering great perspectives!
