Meet Yasin—our newest team member joining our Import Operations team! Yasin was born and raised in the Capital Region, with a short time spent in Pennsylvania, but now resides in Queensbury. Yasin is a proud father of four “amazing and funny” kids, ranging in age from 3 to 10, and has a black cat named Jack—or better known as “Fat Black Jack” to him! Yasin has not worked in logistics to this degree but is very excited for the opportunity to work in freight forwarding! Outside of work, Yasin enjoys practicing Muay Thai, watching and studying the craft from his role models in the sport, and being a dad, messing with his kids just for the fun of it 😊. Something you may not suspect from Yasin is that he is “deathly afraid” of mice! He shared a memory of him and his brother helping their mother move when he saw a mouse climb up his brother’s back while two others darted out from underneath a potted plant. The funniest part is that Yasin trains/fights constantly and his brother was in the Army but are BOTH terrified of mice! As an active person, Yasin would choose a backpacking trip over an all-inclusive vacation because he enjoys human interaction, getting to know people and their experiences along the journey. However, if he could choose one superpower, it would be teleportation as he constantly finds himself being needed somewhere or wanting to explore places he hasn’t been yet. If Yasin was to host an exclusive dinner party with three guests of his choice, he would choose Marcus Aurelius, for deep philosophical conversation, Ragnar Lothbrok, because he is a farmer turned warrior, and a deeply important figure from his religion to better understand his practice. Yasin can be described as family-oriented, funny, and clever, and shared two pieces of advice he’d give to his younger self: 1) “Don’t be scared. It’ll hurt, but not forever.”, and 2) “Be someone you can be proud of.”
